Skincare For pole dancers
Hey there, gorgeous! Let’s talk about keeping that skin of yours in tip-top shape, especially since, as pole dancers, our skin is like our best friend for gripping the pole. Winter can be a bit of a party crasher with its dry skin drama, but don’t worry! We’ve got some fab tips and a complete skincare routine to keep your skin healthy and happy.
Step One: Find a lotion that loves your skin as much as you love dancing. We adore using Aura Cacia organic skin care oil, vegetable glycerin, and 99-100% Aloe Vera gel. Some of us are fans of the Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Body Lotion in the green bottle. When you’re searching for a pole-friendly body lotion, make sure the main ingredients include “Water, Glycerin, Distearyldimonium Chloride, Petrolatum, Isopropyl Palmitate, Cetyl Alcohol,” and steer clear of oils, like mineral oil, coconut oil, seed oil, or seed butter. None of those should crash the party.
Step Two: Exfoliation is your new best friend, and you should be scrubbing down 2-3 times a week. Start your exfoliation days by dry brushing your legs before hopping in the shower, then grab a mesh exfoliator or mitt to bid farewell to dead skin. Finally, find a body scrub that suits you. We love sugar scrubs, but remember, if they contain oils or seed butter, save them for after your pole dancing session. Time your exfoliation for post-class showers or baths—you might even want to indulge in a weekly Epsom salt bath to pamper your skin and recover from dancing.
Step Three: At night, treat yourself by rubbing a dime-sized amount of vegetable glycerin on each leg, both arms, and your torso. Follow up with aloe gel on the same areas. If you’re using Aveeno or another glycerin-based lotion, slather it on all the same spots!
Step Four: Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Drinking plenty of water helps your skin soak up all those lovely lotions and potions. With this routine, you’ll enjoy healthier skin and stick to the pole like a pro.
PS: Need an extra dose of skin love? We highly recommend snagging a bottle of Dew Point pole lotion for your pole bag. If you accidentally skipped moisturizing before class, Dew Point has your back. Apply it right before your pole session to wave goodbye to dry, slippery skin.
